Oops I did it again !!!

So I realize I've been lacking on the posting lately, but now I'm here to fix that!! I've recently started riding a 3 year old buckskin paint mare that has been for sale at the barn in Troy where I ride. I didn't think I would like her as much as I ended up liking her. She's kind of shy and definitely isn't crazy about hands around her face, but after riding her daily for a bit, she has shown me that with each day she becomes more comfortable with me. Well needless to say my boyfriend decided I needed a new horse for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!! I keep a breakaway halter on her in the field or else it takes me about 20 minutes to wrangle a lead rope around her neck... LOL. Her name is Bubbles and she has had training on barrels but has been put in the field for about 6 months. So right now I'm working on getting her handle back on her and playing on the pattern a few days of the week. After she's finished I think she's going to be an awesome mare!! She is shy on the ground but the second you swing a leg over her, she is all business. She's smart and I'm really enjoying working with a young horse. She has a lot of nice buttons on her that I'm trying to get brought back out and refresh her memory and everyday she tells me that she will end up being something super special!

My friends from Florida are all coming to the Heart of Dixie in Troy to ride horses on the weekend of New Years so if I can get her loaded on the trailer, I plan on taking her there to ride, as well as ride my gelding! She's super level-headed under saddle and I think she's going to be a nice trail horse as well as a barrel horse!

Here's some pictures of Bubbles!

The day I got her!! (a week after we met her)

This was the first day I met & rode her!!

She likes to give me little reminders that she has had previous barrel training!

She looks so big in this picture... with more growing to do!!

Sleepy baby after our little workout!!

Thankfully she will be staying in Troy with me so I can ride her everyday and get videos & keep everyone updated on her training and how she comes along!!!
